Perm MotorPERM Motor, the disk motors specialist for traction applications supplies the motor for the new eVivacity scooter by Peugeot.

The globally patented PERM motor provides this sporty youthful scooter, which is scheduled to go into serial production in 2011, with rapid acceleration power. PERM motors are characterised in particular by their high level of efficiency across a broad range of speeds and torques, their low power/weight ratio and their great acceleration power. By integrating the motor into the rear wheel swinging arm, PERM and Peugeot have partnered in the development of a lighter and optically appealing solution to fit the smallest possible space. PERM was able to apply its flexibility for customer projects and its knowhow to the fullest extent in this joint venture.

The extremely silent-running electric motor offers a completely new and impressive ride feel, in which in particular the PERM motor‘s high capacity is most impressive. The electric drive system is also completely maintenance-free for the lifetime of the scooter. The eVivacity can be recharged via a common household socket, and its running costs amount to only about one tenth of a comparable petrol scooter.

PERM has been marketing the PMS series with brushless, permanent-magnet motors successfully for many years and for various applications in the power range of 250 W to 30 kW. That is why also Peugeot Motorcycles now rely on PERM quality, 15 years after their introduction of the first electric scooter.

Perm MotorMore and more electric Vehicle manufacturers around the world are now deciding in favour of PERM motors for their new ranges of electrically powered vehicles. Integrating the motor into a manufacturer-specific engine case has the added advantage that both, design specs and therefore recognition value, remain exclusively in the hands of the vehicle manufacturer.
